CLEANSE
No matter who you are, no matter how great or poorly your skin already looks, every dermatologist, facialist, esthetician will tell you to wash your face - morning and night. Keeping your skin clean is one of the most important steps to achieving great looking skin. Cleansing and washing your face really is such a simple task to do, no more than 2-3 minutes, and no work or kid related excuse should exempt you from skipping this simple task. After a long day at the office and running errands, oil and dirt inevitably end up on your face and in your pores. Simple as splashing some warm water on your faced, massaging in some gentle cleanser, and patting your face dry would make all the difference in the way your skin looks and feels.
A great cleanser that is effective at unclogging pores and erasing dirt and impurities from your face, while not forcing you to fork over a whole weeks paycheck is: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
And guys, washing your face is not girly. You can join in on the fun too with a cleanser designed specifically for your rough and tough, rugged, scruffy man skin: Dove For Men Hydrating Face Wash
SUNSCREEN
Okay, okay I get it - you're sick of everyone jumping on the sunscreen bandwagon and preaching about the damage sun does to your skin. I understand. But really, wearing sunscreen is the single easiest, and most effective wear to protect your skin and to ensure your skin will continue to look young in the future boasts Texas based dermatologist Lisa Garner, MD, president of the Women’s Dermatologic Society. However, at this point, it’s practically common knowledge that sun damage and skimping on sunscreen is the number one cause of lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and of course skin cancer. Now really, it takes approximately 30 seconds to lather up your face with some sunscreen. Everyone has time for that, and skin cancer? - no way anyone wants to go through that. And I know you certainly don't have time for those endless doctor's appointments and possible surgeries if you do end up with skin cancer from not wearing sunscreen and protecting your skin. It's so much easier to wear sunscreen everyday and prevent any of the above inevitable symptoms, than it is to reverse these effects. Any working professional knows that if you are thorough and do something done right, it will save your ass in the long run and you won't have to do it again!
Here's a sunscreen that is long-lasting to get you through an entire day at the office and then some that is friendly for both genders: Nuetrogena Sport Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 70
Hate sunscreen because you like a natural glowing, tan feel? Try one of the best tanning lotions that has recently gained popularity following the warning from doctors and dermatologists about skin cancer from too much sun: Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer
WATER
Get to chugging people, turns out water makes your skin look great and it can have other health benefits as well - an extra bonus for working individuals who don't always make it to the gym - who doesn't also want to banish belly bloat? Water helps clear out the extra toxins in your skin that cause blemishes. Sipping on water throughout the day keeps your skin extra hydrated which transports nutrients and oxygen to skin cells instructs Dr. Ava Shambam of Beverly Hills. Did I lose you there? Are you thinking why is this all important? Well, once again, dehydration and forgoing the recommended 8 glasses of water each day cause major fine line, wrinkles, and premature aging on skin on your face but also all over the rest of your body. Skin will appear more ample and fuller - like a plumped up baby's bottom. Who doesn't want that? My advice to you, bring a reusable water bottle to work. Not only are you being eco-friendly and reusing your water bottle - look at you being green! - but it makes drinking the recommended serving of water more accessible and easier when you always have your water bottle with you. Chances are, any work environment will have a faucet or drinking fountain you can fill up in. Lastly, if you aren't a big water drinker or get bored with normal water, try infusing your water with some lemon or mint - even tangy fruit does the trick to spice up your water and keep you drinking!

FOOD
People, people, people. I should not have to tell you this, you already know it - you are what you eat. What you put in your gut will not only appear on your face, but it will show all over you body. Yikes! If your insides aren't happy, your skin certainly won't be either. Load up on veggies and omega-3 fatty acids- almonds, avocados, fish - and watch your skin transform! I get it, you work, and early - you don't have time or energy to eat healthy. However, excuses are no more. Meal prepping is all the rage these days and it's one trend that proves to be easy and effective. Give it a try, save some money, prepare your meals at the beginning of the week, and bring your lunch to work. You'll eat better and become more conscious of what you put into your body. Not only will you look better, and feel better, but it will show on your skin. Don't forget your fruit either! Especially berries - which are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins that protect your skin and promote collagen (which prevents wrinkles and dull looking skin).

SLEEP
If everyone is still with me you will be pleased to know that I have saved my final piece of advice for last because I believe it is everyone's favorite and most important. Yes, you read that right - SLEEP! Get to snoozing people, it's not called beauty sleep for nothing! Sleep deprivation not only has skin consequences, but it can be detrimental to your health as well. Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which may cause you to look tired, pale, and washed out - think zombies circa Walking Dead. Sleep is the best time for your body, mind, and skin to get rejuvenated and renew itself. Usually when you sleep, the night shift is when your skin is working it's hardest. I recommend hydrating with some moisturizer right before bed to double the effects of sleeping and really benefit from the sleep you deserve after a long and grueling 8 hour work day.
A moisturizer that hydrates and is specifically used at night: Olay Total Effects Night Firming Cream
Now I know it may be hard to religiously follow and use all the tips and tricks I have described above, but as a working professional I try my best to - and at the very least - incorporate some into my daily and nightly routine. I tried to describe simple and non-time consuming routines that will benefit your skin and your health now and in the long run. But what do I know? I know you're all thinking it. I'm here to assure you, that I'm your bona fide expert skin advisor, without the $40 copay. I have tried everything under the sun and have gotten endless amount of medical advice pertaining to skin from experts. Heck! I've even put bird shit on my face thinking it was going to unclog my pores and even out my skin tone. I'll let you use your imagine on how that went. Basically, keeping it simple really is the way to go. Easy to use, affordable, and simple products can transform your skin as well as the habits you develop using them amongst the other lifestyle tips I have included. Don't let pricey and ingeniously dubbed "miracle transformation serum" products fool you otherwise or let people scam you into lengthy procedures either. You don't want to be passive now, and then later scramble trying to reverse the damages of your skin and your health due to your excuses. Anyone can use these easy to follow tips and tricks while still working, having a family, and trying to balance a social life! Get to it!
